Visiting the Nativity Museum is exciting for everyone!
A nice book to give as a gift
Our latest publication, dated Christmas 2019, is an illustrated catalog of the most important and valuable works in the collection entitled ‘Nativity Scenes and Shepherds, Selected Works from the Nativity Museum Collection.’
This is a predominantly photographic book, created with the intention of providing the visitor with an agile volume to browse through, where he or she will find a brief presentation of the Museum and excellent quality pictures accompanied by descriptions of the works, brief news, stories and curiosities about the crib.
The illustrated works, chosen from our museum’s collections, are cribs, dioramas or nativity figures also generically called ‘shepherds,’ among the most valuable and appreciated by our public. The nativity workers and figurine makers who brought these works to life are among the greatest ancient and contemporary masters. This volume offers our visitors and all enthusiasts the opportunity to take home images of even a portion of what they have seen in the Museum. The viewing of the beautiful photographs is accompanied by the reading of news and trivia presented in an informative manner but, at the same time, always with documentary rigor.
The book, written by museum curator Barbara Crivellari, was produced under the sponsorship of the Province of Bergamo. The photo campaign was created by Valentino Belotti’s UV studio.
The illustrated works, chosen from our museum’s collections are cribs, dioramas or nativity figures (‘shepherds’), number about fifty and are among the most valuable and appreciated by our public.
